Hello From Holland
well...i have been watching from afar for a while now...
dreaming...reading...trying to understand...

My name is Bill
I'm an average Dutch student
i have the average dutch student income...which is basically near ....erm... 60 euro's a week Tongue If they need me...else i make nothing

i like simple things...plain things
and when i saw this anime part about a racing guy drifting down mountains...in one of the most extraordinary car i'v ever seen...
its designs where so simple..so plain....yet powerful
and awesome flipping headlights....it took me a while to find out it was a corolla.

but not a normal corolla like my gramps had... an AE86
now I'm only 19...and just obtained my drivers license.
i don't work a normal job cause I'm still in school
and this car would be the reason for me to drop out and start working.
but on the other hand i have to look a bit further than the Now

i want to finish my education. start working...make money...and buy a Toyota Corolla AE86.

so i joined here though i don't have an AE86 yet...and it will probably take me a while with my current job...until then...i have to learn something about cars

the only thing i know is how to operate a car the normal way, i cant probably drive pretty average compared to most here
though i'm pretty happy when i'm driving..i hope i can get my own AE86..
instead of taking my dad's car every time i need to go a but further than 20 KM away from home Wink

when i told my parents about my dream car the laughed right at my face,
such an old car....so many mile's on the counter
they want me to take a Volkswagen Polo or something like that

my dad always wanted a Ford Mustang '69, so why cant i have my AE86

Guys, help me out...
i know nothing about car's,
i cant strip em...i dont reconize parts..let alone repair one

im looking forward to hang around with you guys,

Bill Crowfield

Hello From Holland
iv read the site a couple of time, sadly i only picked up to few
my native language isn't English

i do understand minor things now, but if that's everything i need to start building a car Tongue

though i learned some fun things indeed.. for e.g. why my dad's car has over-steer

I'll try to read it again when i have a clear head, that will probably make it easier

Hello From Holland
hehehe, I've just mainly been looking at the 4AGE explanations, tuning tips etc.

btw, welcome to the board Smile

The thing with cars, as I have learnt anyways, is that you just have to find some write-ups on the net about simple maintenance tasks, get the needed tools... and try it out.

i.e.: own engine lube job, sparkplug changes, filter changes. Simple maintenance is easy to do Smile

And well, you need a good place to tinker, something I don't have, which sucks a bit.

Good luck with finding a hachi! Places like ebay, this forum (usually in the sale thread), marktplaats sometimes, autoscout21, mobil.de (? ), autotrader... those sites have some hachis popping up now and then.

Well, I can tell you that I have a lot of trouble explaining car things in Dutch now because most of the time I only know the English term for it. Tongue
Or even worse: a term thought up because someone did not know the proper English translation. Big Grin Big Grin

About getting an AE86: there are still a lot around in Holland and surrounding countries. However most of them are not available and not for sale of course... That's probably the most frustrating part of it. Then the price is another thing: if it is cheap most of the time it needs a lot of work...

The chance of one becoming for sale in Holland (apart from the 7AGZE 3 door on Marktplaats) is very low, but for that purpose I put an personalized RSS feed of Marktplaats in my reader (you can do that from the search). I'm not after an AE86 of course but I do that for posting possible interesting things on the forum. Wink

Also keep a close eye upon the sales section here. Smile

Hello From Holland
well, the point is, i would not mind importing a sprinter from Japan, But still
its the money first xD.
i hate it to be so far away from the starting step. but sadly i have to start from scratch..
if this was the state's i had a trueno for like 800 bucks?
unfortunately it aint easy to get a trueno here
still the car motivates me and i hope il be able to pull trough my education, as soon as i did that il be able to make some money and start building my dream

Hello From Holland
For 800 bucks you would get a very crappy GT-S, or you are very lucky and the person selling the car doesn't know what it's worth... An SR5 would be earier to find for that amount of money...
Then again: I expect prices to collapse and probably starting in the US. Blush
