Hi all!
You should have asked Bill when he was here, but I'm pretty sure that the aussies did indeed get 3au engines...it still qualifies as ae85 since it has an 'a' series engine and (I think) the drum brake rear axle.

Hi all!
Robokill, AE86 SR5 comes with 4AC (70-74hp instead of 4A - 90 hp).
And if this is Australian hachi - there is 99% for solid front brake rotors.

Hi all!
Robo,

I think its basically the same engine but I've heard that the AE85/SR5 was sold in a number of countries with a 3xx engine identification, I guess that was the 3au.

No idea what the specs of the engine are but I wouldn't be surprised if its not just another designation for the 4AC.

The only difference I can remember reading about though was that the 3xx engine was 1.5 liter instead of 1.6 (14somethingsomething).

But thats just what I remember reading, no idea what the truth of the matter isSmile

Moved down under, no more hachi Sad

Hi all!
Thought in the Initial D comic the 3A was mentioned in the scantranslation while the Tokyopop version speaks about the 4A engine. Also the 1.5 changed into 1.6

Even Club4AG mentions the 3A engine in their SR5->GTS conversion manual:
http://www.club4ag.com/faq%20and%20tech_...rsion.html

However I always thought the opposite: 3a instead of the 4a untill I read this conversion about half a year ago.

I suppose you weren't interested in 3a engines and did not remember that specific info about the hachi... Big Grin

Hi all!
Yeah the engine would be a 1500cc verson for the 4AC. I will take a picture of the engine and all that stuff today for you all.

The rear brakes are drum and non LSD diff. I will find more info about it in the days to come and keep ya up to date.

20V 4AGEs, I've seen them go for about $900 NZD (about $500 USD) but I will find out more info and prices soon.

Cheers

In fact there is no 3A engines in Hachi-Roku (AE86). This is Hachi-Go (AE85).
