Great, thanks. What is that metal thingy connecting the pipes on this picture? Did you connected the oil coolers 'serial' or 'paralell'?

That is the thermostat. Opens at 70°C I think

They're connected serial.

So if your oil gets hot and the normal oil cooler is not sufficient annymore.. the oil will also run trough the seccond cooler If I am correct..

PS if you look for a Good origional oilcooler.. I have one extra in stock..

Bought mysevle a large Mocal oil cooler!

Cheers Roel

Shroud the oil cooler using plastic / aluminium / carbon fibre. It will make a lot of difference to how it performs and will mean more track time.
Also useful to set up a water jet system - can use the screen washer tank as reservoir.

This sounds interesting. Did you simply connected the pipes to the engine block like it's in stock?

yes, just remember to put it upside down, the thermostat plug facing up so you can unscrew the plug and drain it every oil change.

How much oil fits in this cooler BTW? I mean there is a need of putting extra amount of oil in the engine when using this.

well what i do every oilchange is put my regular amount by the dip stick, then run the motor for 1 min then check the dip stick, add oil. I cant say how much cuz i buy my oil per big gallon size.

As far as I know there is a pressure operated valve in stock. If you use the stock lines with the FC3S oil cooler won't it operate only on high revs because of this pressure valve?

Question is if it can be avooided to run the oil through this pressure valve.
