My god!

"HYO, Evolution Motorsports charges $10,000 for the swap, including Motor, AEM Standalone ECU, Custom driveshaft, Radiator etc....You drop it off with a 4AG and pick it up with an F20C installed and running. As far as a supercharger goes? it should fit just fine. There is lots of room in the engine bay.
10.000US?!? That's nothing! Wonder if they pick up cars here in europe. Big Grin

someone on toyota3tc.com is also installing a F20C engine in his TE27.

The engine characteristics fit the AE86 (and the TE27) very well, only it's a shame it doesn't say 'Toyota' on the valve cover Smile

Its just a lump of metal under the bonnet..who cares what it says...as long as its characteristics suit the car..

A bunch of letters on a valvecover does not determine how a engine feels and reacts..

I think the F20C is an excellent choice...more power then any toyota engine...reliable...power left in the bottem rpm half (vtec is really a brilliant system) and not that much torque that it tears the ancient chassis in half....pity that they are so damn expensive.

Ian, if you really are going to attempt this, you would be better of with the newer generation K series engines. They will remain the workinghorse in the Honda line up for sime time, so you are ensured of plenty cheap parts.Power of the engines is nearly similar (220bhp from the jap-spec TypeR engine. Weight is slightly less then the Fseries, engine is a little less tall then the F. It should fit in there better then the F engine..You have probably already read what that engine does with simple bolt ons...totally insane when you compare it with what you have to do to extract 20 extra bhp from a 4A-GE.

The people around T3 have somehow found out how to do the swap without reworking the firewall....find out how and it could be a one weekend job to install the bugger.
