Hungarian Drifters (the birth of drifting in Hungary)
I nicked most of this picutres from these fine sites, so I hope owners don't kill me next time I go to Hungary. Thank you all for lot's of great great photos.
http://duen.hu/foto.php?o=foto_resz&id=9...8859a26a85 http://nitrocity.hu/modules.php?name=cop...s&album=29 http://www.bmwpower.hu/gallery/thumbnail...album=1020 http://www.carstyling.hu/galeria.php?id=...20&start=0 http://www.partyphoto.hu/index.php?page=...ty_id=8241 http://www.srh.hu/index.php?action=pictu...&x2=1&x3=1 http://www.toljadneki.hu/download/kepek/...esz_1.html http://kep.tar.hu/eladocucc/50321231/23555476#2 First of all, I must say thanks to Gergely aka SutteR for beeing the best host I've ever met. He was with us 3 days all the time on dispostion helping with traffic, acomodation, food / drinks, translation...everything. We left Zagreb/Croatia on friday afternoon and headed to Budapest/Hungary, an 350km long trip. We arrived to Budapest at around 22h. Meeting point was Tesco fuel pump. Since my car pefers 100 octane fuel we moved to OMV gas station. Here we filled up our cars for the next day competition. My girlfriend removing the bugs from the car. Croatian team, form the left ZaX(200SX), Hrc (AE86) and Kas (AE86). We also had support car, Citroen C3 crowded with our cheerleaders and suporters. From the left, host Victor, Din aka GodzillaGTR here, Ines, Boris, ZaX and host Zora After that we headed to hotel were slept over while SutteR went home fixing his AE86 after washing and engine. In the morning Sutter picked up us and lead to the Tokol. We parked our cars and started to prepare them for the drifting. Me, replacing the tires Ines, my mechanic helping me out with usual cleaning and checking the car Hrc, checking the oil level My tires that will soon go in to smoke, I had 3 pairs / 6 tires + 2 spares for driving home Machine and driver, ready to hit the track. Toillets Lot's of them. Tire change was also posibille, but not much help to me since they didn't bring protecting rubber on the machie to save my polished lip from scratching. Judges and V.I.P.'s were in the truck. Great position to watch the competition, and also in the shade OK. This is one of the best things I saw on drift competitions. 2 cells measuring the entry speed at the end of the straight. AWSOME. My speeds were in the range of 75-85kmph. This was the layout of the track. Long straight, wide left hand corner that closes it self and then combination of smaller ones. IMHO perfect for all the cars. Low powered cars could drift entire corner since braking drift could be used. ZaX and Sutter Hrc doing some big angle drifts Who says ae86 can't smoke? Kas with his new pretty paintjob SutteR had one of the highest entry speeds that day. Just like ae86 should do. Competition was very strong, best so far. 44 drifters, some of them were rally drivers with rally cars. Benz - Rare car seen on drift competitions One of many BMW's This car fell of the ramp as you can see. Doesn't matter, it can drift E36 bimmer, had nice rims in the back. Good perfomer E30 with some kind of engine swap, aslo noticed 5 lug, so e30 M3 diff or something like that Puci, winner of the first round. He did 3 very good runs and bit messed up the last one hitting the pile of tires. AFAIK M5 engine swap in this E30. There were some more wicked engine swaps in E30 like 3.5l engine.... Boost gauge, must me installed by my mate Frx1. At least it's his style This is me, giving the interview to RTL television. You can see the video on the link in the end Some cars had small problems. My Cherleaders and supporters And now lot's pictures of me drifting. There are so much pictures that are sooo good. Entry speed - 78kmph and some nice angle Entry speed - 79kmph, good angle and smoke Final lap, no more fear of killing the tires, I smoked them big time These 3 gentlemans decided that the winner of this competition is... ...ZaX, 2nd place goes to Puci, 3rd was Geza with Lada! Girls taking place on podium Zora and Sutter with me on the podium Part that it's hardest for me is packaging the stuff after the event. Here is Ines, Boris and Vanja helping me out with that. My GF was very happy as you can see. Some nice statics After the cometition I was so tired that I felt in to the bed. Next day (sunday) SutteR tooks us to sightseeing of Budapest. After short sightseeing I headed home to prepare the car for the exibition in Croatian cinema. Car is at cinema untill the next round of Drift Match Croatia 22. july in Karlovac. Hope to see some of the 44 hungarian drifters from Tokol in Karlovac. So current situation with my drifting carrer this year goes something like this: 25.02. 2006 SCDT Adria, Italy 5th place 30.03. 2006. DMC Zagreb 2nd place 06.05. 2006. DMC Pula 1st place 20.05.2006. 2. Avtomagazinov Drift Challenge Logatec, Slovenia 1st place 17.06. 2006 Ada Huja Drift, Serbia 1st place, 08.07.2006. Tokol Drift Nap, Hungary, 1st place Big thanks to: Vanja, Boris, Ines, Din, Renata, Hrc, Katarina, Kas, Format X, Mare, Danijela, Gergely, Viktor, Zora and everybody else that I meet that day. I had very nice weekend that I won't forget easy. Videos from the the Tokol can be downloaded on this links http://www.online.rtlklub.hu/player/?vka...asid=1679# http://www.mconet.hu/srh/DRIFT/1.MPG http://www.e30.hu/Radir/Norba+Radir_Tsuiso_tokol.wmv http://www.mconet.hu/srh/DRIFT/2.MPG http://www.e30.hu/Drift/II.Drift_Day_200..._tokol.wmv Results in excel table here http://www.helppoint.hu/drift/vegeredmeny.xls Best regards ZaX Drifting - best fun you can have in your car with your pants on! |

ZaX
Thank you very much for your nice (and soooo many! ) words! I'm really happy that you and the others had such a good time in Hugary. In between we, the hosts, also had a good time. Already told and agreed some times but I repeat: "this is only the beginning of our friendship". We won't be able to be there at Karlovac because we have more coming out this month. One of them related to FF3 Tokyo Drift premier in Hungary... Please try to arrange something with your sponsors to be able to be there at Sibenik although we won't have any chance for winning if you was there. Best regards, SutteR |

Hungarian Drifters (the birth of drifting in Hungary)
hi there
just linkin' up whit U guys, firstable because I'm from hungary, and make sure, RWD drift cars means more but hachis and bimmers. on the lowcost side came the sierra in the picture, actually sometimes its cost less than a Lada. I'm really a rookie with probably almost the less HP/weight car on Tököl last saturday, but 20th out of 43 was more than I expected. and at last, thanx Zax and guys, U gave me something extra, something from the higher level of drifting. cheer up 4 the next session of Urs, have a good lap! |

What really amazed me was a Lada ending up as third. Driver must be very experienced. 1983 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno - import project 2013 - Honda Civic sport - daily driver 2004 - AEU86 dot ORG - daily domain Support our forum, buy from the AEU86 shop: |

banpei Wrote:SutteR Wrote:Great that you use Rendorseg instead of Police!Hehe. One of the first Hungarian words I learned. yes, a stock dohc. Lada he's GEZA-01 (license plate), actually he is very well experienced, some like 20 years on the tarmac, all of the amateur slaloms and races he appeared and came out a legendary drifter-like racer. his goal to make the fans happy with his driving style and it doesnt matter if he wins or not he was the first "big" name on our list. we wanted to invite him to race or perform, but he signed up earlier kinda like the godfather of drift in hungary. |
