Well,

more work on the car today. Its a bit depressing knowing that none of what I am doing at the moment helps to get the engine running but hopefully it will make the car better in the end.

Took the plunge and cut the wires to the unknown sensor in the dashboard so I could actually take the dash completely out.

My next mission was to rid the loom of the central locking device that was installed on the car. We wont be needing this anymore so I also took locking mechanisms out of each of the doors. The bundle of wires to control this thing was a mess. I have kept all the parts for this and I have a single remote key fob - if anyone wants this give me a shout.

Next I proceeded to take out all the the aircon and heating system. I cannot believe how much crap there is behind the dash for this stuff. Needless to say it wont be going back in. Dingy my friend has found me a very simple system that will go in its place. A lot smaller and a lot lighter.

With the heater/aircon stuff out of the way it was time to remove the rest of the sound deadening stuff on the firewall along with all of the matting. Another crap job but its done now.

The Freedom ECU is now out of the car and its up for sale.

Tomorrow the painting starts. Can't wait to finish all this crap.

That does look like a mess indeed. You neednt have worried about that so called sensor in your dash...it's just a connector, that little pigtail that's hanging loose on top of the dash is supposed to be plugged in it I s'pose..

Not a great deal of interest has happened recently - its all boring stuff that didn't seem bothering with.

on Sunday I removed the ENTIRE wiring loom from the car as its kinda become surplus to requirement. All I have to do now is remove the fuel lines from the transmission tunnel and the fun can begin with the gas axe

All being well I should find out if the hachis xmas present will arrive soon.

The car is now definately going to be off the road for 2-4months - but it should be worth it. If anyone has a good condition or new 4.7 crownwheel and pinion give me a shout.

I will have LOADS of 4AGE and other corolla bits for sale soon.

Let me try out some math: (transmission tunnel + gas axe) = F20C install?
