You MIGHT find a Trueno wiring diagram for the US car... NOT the flimsey pull out, but a 70 page booklet just for electrical

Levin - Trueno Questions
Dan-
Actually, I was looking at the Celica which IIRC had been switching headlight styles the year before, or that year. I had no idea what a Corolla looked like until I went shopping, saw some reviews and then had to play "car, car, whos' got a car?" because they were all on allocation. IF you could find one at a dealer, they'd tell you anything to get you to come in then gee, that wasn't the same car. Or, the one in the showroom looked like hoards of gypsies had been camping in it. One even had a full ashtray.
And everyone wanted a deposit (whcih you'd never get back without a fight) but no one could promise you a particular car, since they got whatever Toyota wanted to ship and there was no real inventory until the ship was two weeks out of port, or something like that.
Eventually I found a dealer in a state where you couldn't give away riceburners. I said "Must have ___ can't have ___ doesn't matter on the rest and the first man to call me with a VIN and that spec list gets a deposit. Hello Fedex, it worked!

What can I tell you, finding an econosport with RWD and LSD wasn't easy in '85, if I could have found a better one with proper headlights--I wouldn't have bought mine. IIRC the competition was the Nissan 200SX? with garish slatted taillights, One Subi, with less reliability and garish upholstery, and the Honda Prelude. Which really impressed me until I saw there wasn't enough trunk to carry lunch in. Or was that FWD?

The 85 Accord was probably 10% more than the Corolla, suffered from the same pop-ups, and didn't have rwd+lsd either. Slim pickings!

Original owner, 1985 Toyota Corolla GT-S in the US of A. Will trade for a Cadillac-Gage V150 or a Ford GT44.

So tell me banpei, what about allt he Truenos in Europe?! Came all from Japan?

Concluding this question, this wiring to that particular relay is secondary in my point of view then. If our lights work separate from the door/shut engine i don't need that relay.

Back to the basics, the relays needed are those from the motors and the controler of the switch + motors!

Allright! Thumbs up!

Three possibilities:
1. In the period between 1983 and 1987 it would either have been a direct order from USA/Canada or from Japan (a Dutch dealership sold one USDM in NL, US soldiers stationed in Europe had one delivered through US dealerships, etc)
2. After 1987 they were all imported "secondhand" from USA/Canada or Japan
3. Converted Levin with either USA/Canada or Japan frontend

As far as I know there are simply no Euro-spec Truenos. Only Corolla GT's based upon the Japanese Levin GTs and GTVs or Swiss spec Corolla GT/Corolla SR Levin with a USDM spec GTS/SR5 engine.

Levin - Trueno Questions
Allright lads, everything is pretty much done by now regarding the parts i need to convert! Now i got a trueno!

So... i'm dealing with a question, the corner lights on the fenders came with a lamp brackets on them, but no wiring... And the connector is a bit weird as it doesn't look like a Toyota usal connector.....

In the Toyodiy i saw a reference for a conector + wiring to those corner lights, and ordered them... But what cames was just the lamp connector... with no wiring....

Anyone could help on this issue?!

Regards

it's not rocketscience - just get a weatherpack 2pin connector and fit that - job done. probably easier and cheaper than trying to source the right ones Wink

I was trying to figure out a way to solve the issue, but.... Like i've said the connector has the lamp assembly on it, and it's one of those 3 pieces that rotate and lock onto the lamp structure.....

So i can't really do that way....

As far as I know they are the same as the ones used in the Carina TA60 corner lights. As I still have a Trueno corner light lying in my shed I'll check tomorrow if they are indeed the same. Wink
