MCNSPORT SR61 Project **MUST SEE**
Here is another project for ye to look at. We have just started this project and its already gathering a lot of attention!
It's a Japanese original KP61 shell, which we are stripping down, sandblasting, seam welding, SR20'ing, MCNSPORT caging, painting, WORK wheel'ing etc etc etc for a good customer of ours.. Have a look at what we have done so fare.. Car stripped and on spit: Tack in main part of MCNSPORT cage specifically for the KP Starlet (Similar to the one we do for the AE86) Clean all seams in prep for seam welding: Seam Welding begins (and is finished actually): We have now removed all misc metal and cut the spare wheels well out as well as cleaing odd around the arches. Rear wheel tubbing is next now and as we have measured up where the fiberglass arches are going... (this KP is getting, FRP wings, quarters, kit, doors etc etc etc) We have now the rear arches cut to our specific measurements and they are now ready for our custom rear wheel tubs, to fit the bigger wheels going on this vehicle... Rear wheel well's have now been fully tubed and finished: Pockets have also been covered as they were cut out. As you can see from the pictures there is a difference in both sides, this is due to the original petrol tanks placement on the drivers side: ..So we put on the FRP over fender to see how it would fit (PERFECT FIT BY THE WAY): Cleaned the axle and removed any unnessesaries (axle will be refurbished and look new before final fitting, naturally): Here we are, lining up the axle to see where final position should be: Testing to see what way the wheels will fit: Testing to see what way the wheels and over fenders will fit on together: She is starting to take shape now, once we are finished the next stage engine, box etc etc will have been fitted and removed again; ready for sandblasting, priming etc etc As you can see, we have something special planned for the rear end....... Now these are moulded after the bigger brother, the AE86.. Originally we were going to put in an AE86 dashboard into the KP, however seeing as though we knew we were going to be producing these.. we though what better than to have a CF AE86 dashboard inside! Everything is now basically mocked up for final fabrication - Then it's just a case of sandblasting, priming, painting and final assembly... We are so fare very happy with the outcome of this project, as is our customer! Be getting back at this project in Janurary Hope ye like it let us know what ye think |
