Took her out for a spin tonight. My problem with pulling left/rigth on throttle is gone and my vibration >120kmph is gone!

I guess running on tires that keep deflating is very bad for handling

Strange, the folder from '84 shows these wheels under the AE86:



And these were also on an old coupe from a friend of mine (monique, some CCNL forum members will know her).



The blue one has them (in fact. that one was Monique's, but it was bodged together by the previous owner, he welded a new rear to the car, and only a few years later it almost fell apart)

Not all of them had those pizza-cutter wheels on them. But it's hard to tell after 20 years. The wheels that came on Euro hachi's cant be determined by using the folders. For example big parts of europe got the Atiwe rims as an option I think, holland didnt. The wheels I have and mux has just mounted are one of the original toyota designs, there are many more we never got in europe. They where around for zenki ae86's as well I think.

I'm not sure about that.
Most Zenki AE86's have them nowadays indeed, but if they were delivered with the car then, i can't tell (i wasn't even born when the Zenki AE86's were introduced ).

Pictures to follow soon but tonight we took out the rear window, welded a new plate where we had a rust hole in my car, and put the window back in. Also finally changed the oil and filter (and lost the little washer so its dripping oil very very slowly, tomorow we will fix that, martijn is going to get a new washer for me.

Only thing was that I pulled a wire loose that leads to a little thing near the oil filter (just infront of it, no idea what that is). Took us awhile to figure that one out...

Last thing on the list is a new door seal in the driver side door, martijns gonne prepare a steel plate for that one at his work and next week we will weld it in. Then its off to the paintshop

What kind of rust protection did you use, zink spray?

Hi Ivan,

Nopez, no glueing, not sure why he desided against it, I think its cause he needs the workshop at his work for it or something. Besides he's getting pretty happy with the welder now that he's used it a couple of times.

We used normal primer in these situations. Since we cut out all the rust and welded a new bit in that should be just fine for a couple of years atleast. Martijn isn't to fond of zink spray, it doesn't work well as a primer.

The bits on the boot rail I am not to happy about this solution, we actually zink sprayed those first but its not perfect. I'm thinking of removing the paint one more time and using POR15 for this one, I still have some left over from my axle work.
