Hey Guys,

Just a small update. I installed Tokico HTS at the front a while back as you all know and was pretty happy with them so far. Factory however they are set to their highest setting which gives a very bouncy ride, far from optimum performance wise.

Because I had only ordered the fronts for myself I didn't get the adjustment tool with it, only Djex and CF have it but never got around to getting something to replace it and start tinkering with the settings.

Today I finally found out it takes a 6 sided 3mm allen wrench (I believe the proper word is, correct me if I'm wrong).

I was confused at first, I can't turn it to the right, because that tightens it, and I could keep turning it to the left.. Because you adjust the Tokico's when they are on the car and my car has pretty stiff suspension its hard to 'feel' the change with your hands. So I got very confused. I called up Djex and he told me that you can keep turning it to the left until you totally loosen the nut which is NOT good According to the manual (which he has ) you're not supposed to turn it more then 8x anti clockwise from the hardest setting to the softest. He recommended I'd try 4 full turns first (half strength) and so I did.

And indeed, the ride difference is immense. Its no longer the shocks that are taking the brunt of the suspension work but the springs now nicely doing their job and the shocks doing their job. I finally decided on 3 full turns from strongest setting (so 5/8th strength) for now. Next week its track time and I'll start playing with it.

I really need to get these for the rears because I feel my current rear shocks (KONI) are set to high (or I'm hitting my bump stops atm, need to check that too) but I hate having to detach them to adjust them. HTS just is so much easier...

(we're getting some AGX shocks in soon I hope, maybe I'll mount a set of those rear, they are supposed to be adjustable on car aswell).

great to hear that.. i think this is a very very fun phase in "hachilife" that you're in - now that your car is more or less "done" and you can start playing with different settings and test it and race it and really find the optimal setting. good luck!

btw, i vote for hts's. you just gotta have the same shocks maan if they are as good as people say.

Somethings not right there....

Just put my spare 2-1 on. Picked it up at Djexor. Was surprised that it still had heatshields completely in tact. Hope this one holds out longer then the old one... Interesting to see how it snapped right off... Atleast I can finally drive my hachi again after almost a month standing still...

Honestly, when I drive bearfoot, not even in high RPM the heat in the car is burning my feet... the pipes are not even close to the body...

Is this normal?
Anybody solved the problem
