Hmm, sadly, then i can't help with the exhaust.
Maybe some gun gum wil fix your exhaust problem  about the driveshaft, it came with an axle i got, it's as good as new (like the axle was  ), zero to none play.

no they don't, all post 73 Corollas got the 3K-H engine, with the other exhaust (i found it in my Olyslager manual)

Another update:
After 1.5 years the yota is streetlegal again! Windshield, MOT and all. They never even looked at the car at the re-examination, just assumed everything was ok..they were still quite adamant that even the new axle had play on it....yeah right! So now its back to the cooler again with this project...she drives like crap, but I'd like to do everything else in one go...I have a line on a coilover set front and rear, made specially for the KE according to my specifications..The rear will be butchered to fit 4 links, a Watts link (aka 6-link) and the LSD axle, the front will switch to rosejointed AE86 everything. Basically the escort RWD suspension in Group 4 (profession rallye) trim made to fit the corolla. Only have to wait untill racing season in the US cools down again, so might be a few weeks. I tried steeling the old wolfrace rims from Doc while he was looking the other way...problem is my car has the larger deluxe callipers that make fitting aftermarket wheels next to impossible...damnit. congrats!
I thought about the wheels, when i was home. You said the rear wheels were quite ok, maybe we could have swapped them to the front and put the Wolfraces in the rear. But anyway, swap to 4x1143 it is?
