OST-048: Спасибо товарищ Сталин
As to the title....
While I've seen a few poor smallport castings.... this one is a pretty good casting, with decent chambers, and pretty good port-bowl alignment. What it doesn't have is a good short radius..... on ALL of the bowls.... more to come.... Dan - You can | .... OR you can ask for help!!! So this engine will be using a set of ITBs. It will be using a T3 adapter.
The ITB adapter needs a bit of blending..... As do the intake ports... they too need some gentle blending I pick up the head later today, so more to come....... Dan - You can | .... OR you can ask for help!!! OST Porting service - http://hachiroku.net/forums/showthread.php?t=19991 |

Assembly.... This client is using a Supertech spring/retainer kit.
I've not been a fan of the Supertech kit. One reason is because I've not been a fan of the Supertech spring seat.... Kind of a shame actually... as there are many springs out there that can fit the stock spring seat. The Supertech spring seat is a flat steel "washer". There is nothing on the Supertech spring seat to help keep the spring located/stable in the spring pocket. Introduce the "Macer" spring seat. Richard Macer builds many racing 4AGE heads, and he has found the standard Supertech spring seat to be "wanting", so he designed and had manufactured an improved spring seat The Macer seat fits the spring pocket, and the inside "neck" helps keep the spring located, and stable. If you want to get a set, send me a note, and I'll forward contact info. Quote:I've not been a fan of the Supertech kit. One reason.... the other reason.... HELP! Supertech Retainer / stock buckets I checked valve protrusion through the retainer, I have .025" on the exhaust side, and .030"+ on the intake side... so that concern is no longer a concern..... more to come....
