Not sure if this is really inspirational, but I found this old ad for a Black Limited that needs a bit of TLC:


This wreck sold for well over 3 million Yen (25K euros!)
Given the current prices of the Black Limited this one will probably be saved (or already has been saved by now) and restored to former glory:

And it's a genuine Black Limited, look at the stitching on the seats and the amber gauge cluster.

That car looks like a very nice project since most of the important stuff is included. Hopefully we'll see it looking nice in a few years.

I risk looking like an idiot for asking this. But how did you get such high-res images from Yahoo Auctions? When I browse items, right clicking is disabled so all the images I have are very low-res, usually saved via a screen grab.

I figured it out already, view the page source and then open the images separately. Probably should have tried that sooner, I've been using screen grabs for years when saving images from Yahoo. I'm such a moron.

It's even simpler than that. I use Firefox and with this browser you can open the page info (Tools > Page Info, or cmd+I on Apple or ctrl-I on Windows). Here is a media tab available with all the images on the page:

It takes a bit of effort to find the image, but from here you can directly store the image in high-res.

However in this case I did it differently: I saved the entire page (for future safe keeping) from Firefox and then Firefox will include and download all images.

Japanese Nostalgic Car blog posted this "awesome" late 1990s USA drifting video by Option Video. It's got many many many mint AE86-es and don't expect any of them to go sideways in a decent manner. So this is supposed to inspire you how not to do it!
