Project **4JAMEZ**, Toyota Trueno Sprinter.
Hey all,

This is my AE85 1300cc auto Trueno which I am converting into a AE86 replica. This thread will follow the process I take to convert it from a red auto to a white manual 4AGE powered toy.

Please feel free to comment at any time.

What started the strip down and restoration was when a woman pulled out in front of me....and I couldnt stop in time. Lonnnnng story short, she was in the wrong but I ended up getting nothing. So I thought to my self...look at this from a positive side..time to rebuild her!

Enjoy.

So for I have removed the front and rear bumper, the bonnet and rear hatch and 80% of the interior..tomorrow night after work I will get back into removing the rest of the interior...then its time to remove the engine, gearbox and drive sharft. While its on wheels I'll get rid of the sound deadning from the floor pan. From there......well we will have to see I guess. This strip down is around 4 hours of work so far. BTW everything removed has been bagged, labeled and filed..its the perfection side of me coming through Banging head

IMO bagging and labeling everything is the only sane thing to do... It was quite a puzzle for me only to put back the dash and some other interior parts after I got everything in two or three boxes. Big Grin Big Grin
BTW: 1300cc?? I thought the 3A was a 1500. Dumb question

Hi, thanks for looking at my project.

Yeah I starting bagging everything right at the start, there are far to many parts and bolts/screws not to. Must be a headache to attack the project with out being sorted in the fileing side of things.

Yeah it is 1500cc, I made a boo boo with that, sorry mate.

More photos to come tonight once I get all of the interior stripped.

Hey Buda,

Yeah SR5...in NZ they are called SR's with out the "5"..not sure why, Its a Jap import not NZ new.

We call the 1500cc carb engines 3AU's where as I think they call them some thing different in Europe and USA.

Thanks for viewing my project matie.

In Japan one of the AE85 trims was SR as well:

SR stands for Sports Racing. Wink
SR5 was a designation for the 5 speed Sports Racing trims which started with the TE27 SR5.
