Quaife quick rack
^ correct.

Not necessary, NCRCA/RCA's do this due to how they space the knuckle & control arm away from the spindle.

I have the Quaiffe rack in my MR2 and it is REALLY nice as the others have said. About 2.5 turns lock to lock for the AW11.

Quaife quick rack
From my other post:
I have recently spent some time considering using power steering or a Quaife quick rack. The Quaife rack gives 2.5 turns lock to lock.
What I want is quicker steering for a rally car and with this in mind I decided to measure the rack movement for one complete turn of the pinion and then convert that to degrees of movement at the wheels.
These are the results, measured as accurately as I could:

Stock non power rack 23 degrees
Power rack + power steering knuckles 20.5 degrees
Stock rack + power steering knuckles 27.5 degrees
Quaife rack 27 degrees
Quaife rack + power steering knuckles 35 degrees

Hope this info is useful to someone TC

Quaife is more like 2.25 with ps knuckles. I do find it heavy for daily driving but its bloody go kart quick.

Two stock options are either 3.5 (gt) or 3 (gtv). I haven't installed the 3 yet but im sure its lighter keke.

Quaife quick rack
Sorry for bringing back this post, but I have some question on the Quaife quick rack.

I have a stock steering rack and I've bought a Quaife quick rack. I am using the car for everyday and I don't know if it would get that heavy in order not to be possible to be driven everyday.

What do you suggest?

Side parking will be annoying but once you're upto speed it's not too bad as long as you don't have a tiny steering wheel

It's a free workout in the end. It'll be a pain if you switch back and forth from another car with assisted steering

Thanks Bean. It is going to be risky driving it in the city and on public roads because of the quick turning?

It'll take time to get used to. It really does give it a much more gokart like feeling

I installed it yesterday with brand new parts. The feeling is awesome. It's a little bit heavy, but I can use to it. The feeling of steering is great!

If anything its a touch heavier than standard (negligable). I prefer it with standard knuckles. Tried it with power knuckles and the feel isnt as good, plus it was twitchy at motorway speeds. Have had mine 6 years now and it still practically good as new. One of my fave mods
