S2000 Cluster in 86 Corolla ?? pro's plz

Wassup folks..

I was told to install a s2k cluster in a Ae86 corolla.... all u need is the S2k cluster and the S2k dash harness ???

Does anyone have any step by step doing it this way....with stock ECU >?

Never heard of someone installing a s2k cluster in an ae86 without doing the whole engine, gearbox swap. makes no sense, for ex. the speedo is cable driven in ae86 compared to digitial pulsation in s2k.
But if you really want a digital cluster you should go for the jdm gt-apex digi cluster and for that mod there should be info around the net.

just wann know what else i need to doo on the cluster end ???

There is cable drive -> digital impulse converter and that would make work your km/h and rpm gauges.

Lights are no problem, so only thing left is to think about is fuel and water temperature scales.

If you have everything (dash, engine, harness) you have no reason to have any problem.

That exactly what I am doing (S2000 cluster in 86 with 4AG)

it's not as easy as it sounds as even the fuel gauge used pulse width to set the measured value, or was it the temperature?

Problems you will face:
1. RPM signal needs 12V square wave
2. Electronic speedo is 40 pulses/per rev
3. ECT is a PWMish signal (comes from S2000 ecu)
4. Fuel Gauge slightly off

A s2000 loom won't fix any of those problems. Basically you will need to knowledge in electronics, programming & microcontrollers.

It took me about 6 months (few hours here and there) to get a prototype working in the car. Now im just waiting to finish my engine conversion before I can finalise the design.




So yes it is possible if you are keen enough. I might make a few more batches of these for enthusists.
