Scottish Trueno rebuild - Nürburgring with pics!
right so I've not up dated this in a while so lets have at it!
I've been driving the arse of this thing and been loving every moment of it. I've swapped the carbon bonnet for a Goodline vented bonnet which i think looks are better. The coilovers are on and handles so so much better. During the rebuild the engine was one thing i never got round to after the Today engine i got ended up being bust and the time frame for Germany was getting very close! So last night I was very lucky to come across someone selling a small port hi torque engine with some cams and head work so jamp on the chance. He even chucked in a 2nd small port high torque engine!! so ill be modifying the engine for some power so stay tuned. I'll make some more videos as I go. I'll post a few pics below! Scottish Trueno rebuild - Nürburgring with pics!
So a little update I suppose, stripped both engines to see how they look. Some big end bearings in both engine are destroyed to the point that i had to take a chisel to one of them to get them off!! (see pic below!)
IMG_4900 by ae86-kazi, on Flickr IMG_4901 by ae86-kazi, on Flickr Cranks don't look to bad all things considered. One better than the other but they are both 42mm cranks which is a plus! I'm still trying to identify the cams. I will send these off to Pipercams to get an ID on them but measurements see to suggest that they are 8.60 lift. SO the next immediate step is to get both cranks inspected, get bores sized and get the cams ID. IMG_4918 by ae86-kazi, on Flickr As you can see, the shell on the right has melted to one side IMG_4883 by ae86-kazi, on Flickr You can see the silver markings on the side of the rod where the shell managed to score IMG_4921 by ae86-kazi, on Flickr IMG_4888 by ae86-kazi, on Flickr NOW FOR CAMS!! cam pictured closest is an OEM cam, one further away is aftermarket IMG_4894 by ae86-kazi, on Flickr IMG_4905 by ae86-kazi, on Flickr OEM IMG_4895 by ae86-kazi, on Flickr AFTERMARKET IMG_4896 by ae86-kazi, on Flickr OEM IMG_4897 by ae86-kazi, on Flickr AFTERMARKET IMG_4898 by ae86-kazi, on Flickr These are also the pulleys fitted to the aftermarket cams, The make etc on these is also unknown.
