Hi there recently got a trueno


the back lights on the dash dont work
my speedo is in KM i need to convert to MPH
my speedo works the distance traveled works
but total milage does not go up

any ideas people

hmm.... first of all welcome to the forum.

Back light on the dash: mine dont work either.. probably a faulty rheostat on your lightswitch, or a broken wire. Try slapping the area around the lightswitch and see if you can get it to light up, if it does it's one of the above problems. I used to be able to slap some sense into it before my dash lighting quit completely.

Speedo conversion: where are you? USA or UK? Get yourself a replacement gauge cluster and solve that and the remaining problems.

Then first thing to check is the lightswitch itself... In the AE86 manual the electric repair section handles the lightswitch, so you should be able to see if the switch is causing it. Otherwise you can see in the same section some hints where to check for the backlightning on the gaugecluster connector and see if you can follow the cable and check it further down.
