removing and replacing speedo wormgear?

I'm having a little trouble removing the speedo unit from my old gearbox to move the wormgear over to my new gearbox. After you remove the bolt that supports it, are you required to give the small housing a good tug with some vise grips or am I doing it wrong?

No one? I've looked through the workshop manual and it doesnt explain anything

You have to get some plyers and then just twist it from side to side while pulling backwards, had the same problem on mine and thats the way to get it out...

Use multigrips to give it a gentle twist. Shouldn't take much to come out.

Yeah teh worm gears is a sensitive piece, make sure that you buy the right one.
