Stalkers daily AE85 - 7AGE

Got sick of changing my cars all the time, and decided I may as well get something im going to enjoy!

Got this AE85 Levin totally bog standard!! And in reasonably good condition too. Lovely old lady owned it for the last 10-11 years.

Any left over parts from my blue Levin will be used on this one to make it a little better.
She does have some rusty spots on her, so will just slowly fix them as I go.

This is what she looked like when I picked her up:





Had to do something with the 2 story height she was sitting at, so in went the old suspension and wheels. (made a HUGE difference to the way it looks, and the way it drives)





Found a mint, low kms 7A engine for cheapes, and couldnt say no to it...so here we go again lol





And...



Cause 5 projects is never enough...

started the 7AGE build for my daily driver. Bearing in mind that it all started with "nah, not going to spend money modding it as my other project takes priority"...then "ok lets 4AGE it as im sick of NO power"...to "bugger this, lets try building a 7AGE" lol

Well, the 3AU is now completely removed. Will spend the next few days cleaning and tidying up the engine bay. There appears to be about 26 years of oil all over the place! (the rear cam seal had gone and was spraying oil everywhere)

Its interesting to see that the 3AU intake and exhaust are not only on the same side of the engine, but are almost in the same line together
Bit hard to see, but you get the idea...

Anyone wanna take bets on how long the K50 will hold up before it goes pop? :lol:

Gave the 20+ year old oil a good does of degreaser and cleaned up the engine bay...made a huge difference!



Then spent the rest of tonight putting in the new engine.
it looks awesome sitting in the engine bay!!!







Next mission - wiring and pipe work etc (the fun parts NOT) lol

Heheheh, just got it tuned tonight, and it rocks!!! Most fun ever!!!!!! Def recommend to anyone!

Thanks Bean, will load some installed pics when I stop giggling and remember to take some pics lol.

I used silvertop ITB's, and brought the TTT's adapter plate. It turns the ITB's upside down so that the throttle cable doesnt fowl on the fuel rail.

Cheers for the info - got a dyno sheet from the tuning?

No sadly. It was a mate that came out till about 1am doing the tune while driving down the road and in the driveway lol.

One day ill put it on a dyno and get a power figure.
I asked for the tune to be on the safe side instead of high power side as with it been my daily I wanted reliability more than a few extra HP (plus I was too chicken that I would blow it LOL)
