Starting problems
Cause I have now two hachis, need also 2 threads in technical for their problemsSmile.

I bought the car with this problem - when warm, the engine doesnt want to start.

After changing the spark plugs, spark cables, igniter, ignition coil, distributor electronics the car is still having difficulties to start. Now its even worse - sometimes the engine starts, but is not responding to the gas pedal. Somethimes it is keeping some 800 RPM and must be stopped to start normaly again.
Somethimes it is starting immediately (ecpecialy when cold), somethimes starts after some slow starter turns.

It is a bluetop stock engine ... is it time to change the ECU?
Somebody had these problems already?

I have spare ECU for such test if you want it.
Also MAP sensor, other sensors etc.

When you get the engine running, does it run normally ??

In other words, is it just starting that is a problem ??

Yes, it is working very smooth and having a lot of power. The problem is just the starting.

I had similar problems when my distributor was a tooth out of alignment. But I doubt that's the case i you already replaced those parts (you probably rechecked everything I guess).
Anyways, whatever's causing the trouble, hot start problems are likely to be caused by too much ignition advance.

The car is going like no other ... and Im a bit afraid of loosing this, after "repairing" itSmile. I havent check the advance yet Ivan.
How do you think this connects to the hot start problems?

If you advance your ignition timing beyond the stock setting, you can
gain some extra top end power. Too much advance and you get "pinking"
or "knocking" which indicates that detonation is occuring. When provided,
the engine knock sensor will detect this sound and the ECU will temporarily
retard the timing until the knocking stops.

However, too much timing advance will make the engine more difficult
to start, as the engine will be firing before TDC. Stock timing is always
a tradeoff between maximum power and good all round operation under
a wide range of operating conditions.

A lean mixture is also more difficult to fire, and the start injector will not
operate on a warm engine. Maybe this is why it will start better from cold.
