Did abit of searching on the web (amazing what you can find on wikipedia theese days).. And i've seen that 3rd gen celicas also had the w-series - 2 types:
W55 - Ratios: * First Gear: 3.566:1 * Second Gear: 2.056:1 * Third Gear: 1.384:1 * Fourth Gear: 1.00:1 * Fifth Gear: 0.85:1 * Reverse: -4.091:1 W58 - Ratios: * First Gear: 3.285:1 * Second Gear: 1.894:1 * Third Gear: 1.275:1 * Fourth Gear: 1.00:1 * Fifth Gear: 0.783:1 * Reverse: -3.768:1 It apears taht W58 has closer ratios and would be better suitet for hachi.. So can anyone tell me which transmision is in this car: And just how much fabricating does it require to fit 4a-g? and what needs to be changed? tnx. |

does the stick come through the designated hole, or does it require cutting? what about mounting? and what sort of flywheel/clutch do you need? dont quite understand why you need new?)

dxaqta, maybe you can start your own thread and sell this W58 conversion (no offense here) ? At the moment I'm interested in dog-box T50 conversion but who knows - $900 is good price for entire set !

Hi, just wanted to say I thing it will bee a great gearbox fore a NA-engined AE86 because of the gear-ratio
I'm mounting a gearbox from a BMW fore racing/rally with almoste the same gear-ratio but without the 6. gear, meaning 5. is 1:1. This is okay for racing but fore the street the AZ6 would bee great Best regards |

I think you misunderstood what Jamie ment there, I think he meant that the conversion deserves its own thread.
What I don't get is why some many people are starting to get agitated all of a sudden? No need for that, its just internet, relax.. A wheel to steer the front of the car A pedal to steer the rear |

Yes, NoHachi - if I can I will play a little creating modified internals for T50 with main goal to improve strength and prepare dog-box T50. The price is lower than 5 grand but risk of failure is 100% mine also.

its all good, wasent snapping at all.. my friends dog box shat it self when he had a 130rwkw NA in a 7age 20v... i think its a waste of cash... but im going to solve all these problems buy putting an sr20det in my coupe, strong gearbox and real power
