TRD Gearbox problem
My FRIEND broke the the gear from his TRD gearbox .
He's searching for a pinion (2).
He's got a well tuned engine :170hp . He use to have 140hp before but now with the power increase , He'd like to find something stronger .
Precision : it's for competition (rallye) and he needs short ratios .
Quaife is very expensive. A W58 is strong but stock ratio is'nt what he's looking for .
And of course he doesn't want something to expensive .
If you have solutions , I'll forward them to him , as he doesn't speak or read english .
It's not for myself

There is also the option of fitting Ford gearboxes... I believe Fensport once sold a conversion kit.

TRD Gearbox problem
A friend of mine used a Quaife and it wasn't any where near strong enough.

A would use a Getrag M3 gearbox! Syncros gets worn but other than that it'll take a lot of abuse Thumbs up!

Sarcasme is just one of the things I offer Wink

TRD Gearbox problem
There was one guy on here that was supposed to update me with some type 9 (sierra) box pics and stuff... but that never came through, if you search for it, you can find the thread, it had a list of mods if I remember correctly.

Wow, I could have sworn I had an account here... I guess I'm the new guy Sad

TRD Gearbox problem
To NZAE86 : the third gear pinion is dead . I think he bought the gearbox kit from a seller in France (MRS Passion I think ) .
I don't think it's still possible to get separate parts now .

I told him about W55/58 gearbox but he doesn't know the gear ratios value .
And I suppose it's not very easy to find such a gearbox in Belgium ?
I'll check and forward the link to him .

About Ford gearbox : I think it could be an expensive solution . And what about reliability. He spend a lot of money in the engine and i'm afraid he can't afford a big upgrade .

Anyway thanks for my friend
