TRD gearbox ?
I have both the trd 1-5 and quaife gearset, great ratio's!
but you don't need any of those for drifting, because you're probably gonna break alot gearboxes..

just buy a 4.7 diff ratio

Neither the TRD or quiafe kit will last if you abuse it. You might just as well go for a getrag if you are serious...

The T50 can break, but at AE86 Drift and N2 events I haven't seen that many gearboxes getting broken tbh - I don't remember any in the last year or so, but others might know better..
If using a T50 to preserve the box, be sure you don't fit a harsh clutch kit. Just a single plate TRD or RG is good and will handle 200 bhp.

TRD gearbox ?
Yeah it depends a lot on the clutch and the driver. If you wait just a split sec allowing it to sync instaed of forcing it into gear will help a lot too.

Super expensive. Might as well change out your rear pinion gear and save money.

If using a standard T50, then 4.5 is generally considered the best for track / drift use. Some use 4.778 but on std gear ratios this may leave the 1st two gears a little too low for drift use... Use a calculator to work out the vehicle speeds / revs to make a choice that suits you. Paz had found an online calculator program some time ago..

Well highest which you probably can get will be a 4.8 anyway.

I am looking for higher ones at the moment and nothing is available anymore. TRD discontinued their 5.1 and 5.3.

5.1 & 5.3 would really be usable for race use and full 5 speed close ratio boxes primarily. Pinion gear on those is so tiny it usually wears very quickly! TRD are phasing out a lot of parts for older cars which is fair enough. AE86's are all over 20 yeares old now. Not as bad as Mazdaspeed who have pretty much stopped selling parts for RX-7's - They've only been out of production 6 years! Crying
