That's a supra dash, as the seller says, thus the tacho won't give the right numbers on a 4 pot engine

instrument clusters are *not* interchangable between celica and carina.
I've got an AA63 celica one, prefacelift poverty spec AA60 carina one with the clock (lol), facelift AA60 carina one with the tacho (3AU one, 6000rpm redline, 8000rpm limit) And a TA63 one from a turbo model which is more or less the same. I'm going to be using the 3AU+tacho dash. With the gear ratios of the 6 speed, if I change at redline of the engine, I wont dip below the 6000rpm redline on the dash between 2nd 3rd and 4th. haha. Will be funny to get some WTFs from unsuspecting passengers. Regarding the tail light situation.... It's not a case of 'JDM' tail lights or not, so much as facelift or prefacelift. The bumpers were different too, they either stop short, or wrap around the sides of the car further. There are two different types of twin square headlights, for facelift or non facelift. The interior was also a little different, facelift came with wing mirrors on the doors instead of front gaurds, and a few other things like that. The prefacelift carinas had the 'sectioned' style tail lights, and the facelift ones had the much better looking ones, which are just a continous red/orange, and they stick out a bit with bevels on the edges. |

Yeah the facelift ones I got it for about 10k yen not including shipping....
Its a bit diff to source for the 3 door ones in japan cause its also not so common there compare to the 4 drs, but I think NZ is easier... ![]() |
