Hey just for curiousity I was wondering if there is better trannys that can be swapped into AE86's that will withstand more of a beating. Is there anything to battle a powerful motor on a weak tranny?
Or is it just popular to get the t50 tranny internals rebuilt with stronger synchros? Thanks guys |

People usually go with a supra gearbox. W55 or W58 I guess.

Well I have some muscle car buddies, and they take there trannys to shops where the synchros get replaced with a stronger material.
W55/W58 From what year Supra is this? Is it easy to do a conversion? Whats a dogbox conversion? |

Do you can buy t50 dogbox internals?
Not a big fan of the straight cut gear whining, but hey, maybe itll sound like a supercharger lol Seems kinda pricey, and I dont think I need a dogbox, that seems to be for high HP applications. I just want something a little beefier considering a lot of people are telling me my turbo set up is flirting with the lines of gearbox failure. |

So what year and model supras are the W55 and W58 from?
If you were to buy one, which would be more ideal/ stronger, W55 or W58? |
