URGENT: Need electric help, injectors not fireing
Hi guys
we are working on one sr5 to gt conversion and we have a problem with electrical installation. Car: SR5, loom Engine: 4A-GE MAP with all the sensors, injectors, ecu, loom, distributor from AE86 GT. Car cranks, but it won't start. Sometimes it's starts with the fuel from the cold start injector. When I put little fuel in intake manifold it starts and dies. We have spark on distributor/spark plugs. Fuel pump is OK, we changed 2 pumps. Injectors have 12V on connectors. Injectors are grounded to manifold (4 brown wires). Manifold and head are grounded to chassis. Engine block is grounded to chassis. ECU is bolted on to the chassis, ECU has 12V. Instrument cluster is not connected with check engine light, so I can not perform diagnostics. Any ideas? Drifting - best fun you can have in your car with your pants on! |

Are the injectors any good? They can stuck closed if they were out of use for some time...

Injectors are OK. AE86 GT was driving 2 days ago. They can not go wrong all at once.
MAP sensor is also moved with loom. It wasn't even disconnected. Main problem is that there is no fuel in engine, spark plugs are dry. What is Injector relay and where is located ? Drifting - best fun you can have in your car with your pants on! |

If they have 12V they should be firing..unless there is a major wiring problem or an ECU defect.
How bad is startup? If it starts then dies it could be the circuit opening relay, but if it really is just the cold start injector I would expect it to barely be enough to get it started at all. There is also the fuel rail clogged option, which on of your fellow croats discovered not so long ago... FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |

Fuel can be blocked if the copper washers on the banjo fitting under the
pulsation damper get switched around. The washer with the teeth on the inside goes on top of the banjo, and the thin one goes underneath. If they get swapped around the thin one can go up inside the pulsation damper and block the flow. Take off the pulsation damper and look inside the annulus. If you can see copper up in there, the copper washer has gone inside... and you will need to get it out Cheers... jondee86 |

In the garages...
it's working now with this wires, can you believe? We just connected all the harness to see if it works, old loom will be removed in next days and replaced with the one from AE86. Drifting - best fun you can have in your car with your pants on! |

Is the timing and firing sequence right? Might have switched the ignition leads?
