What spring on KE70 ?

Hey guys, I also have a KE70 that I want to set AE86 lowering springs on. It's a 82 KE and its taking in traffic in November 1982 for the first time. I wounder if AE86 springs fitts in the front on my KE without rebuild something ?

As Eric and oldeskewltoy said, first find out if you are fitted with early or latest stuff of the KE70.
Maybe you will be lucky :wink:

ok guyz, so i made a discovery

that's perfect for our early KE70, as the coilovers are not one piece at the back, they are like "one shock and an adjustable spring", better than the one piece which is not good as it has shocks and springs at the same place, so will go through the body (you need to weld to reinforce).

and at the and, cheaper than to get 4 springs, 2 shocks, 2 ground control/eibach + top camber mount :wink:

i have never used them befroe but they look like every coilover does.
you still have t o weld the front ones though..

franckcrx - You can use those coilovers as long as you switch all the brakes to AE86 parts. This is an advantage, but you need to acquire the proper calipers, and rotors.... something additional to think about.

The Megan is similar to the GReddy kit... but usually costs about 20% less

There can be a downside to coilover suspension... When adjusting the suspension you may hurt the charachter of the car. I recommend you read articles on "corner weighting".

In my opinion, coilovers should only be sold with corner weighting scales

For the settings no problems, that's my job. And you are right for the corner weighting (and not only that, some more informations should be written but hey they want use to buy )

SO i cannot fit these if i do not change the brakes. arfff those cars starts pissing me off. why nobody did some some lowering springs for this car

The ones a found (see above) have to be welded to the struts, so they might be good for mine no as i use my struts ?

To understand better the difference between the earlier version and the latest of the KE70, i went in a scrapward and dismantled a latest version.
And i cannot find the difference on the front and rear which cannot allow me to put the springs of the latest version

someone is telling me that i cannot use AE86 coilovers at the rear of the '79 KE70. Why ? i have 3 complete rear axle in my garage (2 KE and 1 TE71) and are all the same springwise
