Hey Ian,

The plugs just need one of those copper rings to make them fluid tight..

Not sure about the part numbers but why not visit the local scrapyard and take them off of some axle?

Cheers Ivan,

is there any noticable difference between the pumpkins on the Zenki and Kouki pumpkins so I can tell what I have ? - I know some axles have slightly thinner halfshalfs - I just want to replace them with new ones as one is in poor shape.

Regards Ian.

I think the drain plugs are much the same on almost all ae86's..I was rather puzzled by the fact that the last years had different filler plugs.
About the halfshafts, the thickness is different, and the splines are incompatible (as are the differentials). I dont think they are interchangeable. I only know of the US guys shortening open diff halfshafts to fit lsd's, but then they still have to make sure they get the right generation of lsd.
What exactly is in poor shape on your axle? If it's just the plugs go ahead and replace them..

Cheers Again,

its just the plugs Ivan, one of them has been a bit rounded off so when I eventually take it off I want to replace it.

Do you normally drop your lateral rod out of the way to make more space ?

Regards Ian.

Why would you want to do that? It has never gotten in my way before..
Anyway, just check your hachi's build date as far as that is possible, and change those plugs..
