code stamped somewhere on the motor?
my friends dad just got a whole shipment of japanese motors. most are worthless... carb'd honda motors and such. he has a couple motors from a 280. but he does have this one 1.6 toyota motor.... what stamp, and where would i find out if its worth anything to me. it looks like its in awesome condition. the head has not been used once. kinda looks like a rebuild.

I thought it was next to the starter motor for older Toyota engines.

Well, for starters you should easily be able to spot if it's a twincam engine by looking at the head. Most twincams that have 2 cam pulleys are interesting engines, the rest are usually economical engines.
