differential lock %

This time Im trying to collect differential data.
But I want to focus on lock percentage.
I know the stock car was available with open and LSD diff's

But I am unable to fint what was:
- side bearing preload
- power-side lock %
- coast-side lock %

Could You please help, and share some information ?

There is quite a bit of information available in the factory service manual.

Besides the FSM, you can also trackdown the TRD Bible. This has quite a bit of useful information, and it is available digitally......

Finally, there is a newer TRD publication I've not yet seen digitally... here is a photo of its cover

I currently have two books and two FIA homologations.
There are some info but unfortunately not things about which I ask.

I have FSM and TRD Bible, Im biding two other books in GB now.
And I just won auction in PL.

We will see...
...anyway the book that You espouse looks very promising - but I dont think that it is available in Poland :-/

I don't know.... I take it at its word... it is a suspension data book... I believe it is all their offerings

I found some open diff data from other RWD Toyota model with the same engine - side bearing preload is 0.8-1.4Nm for new bearing
and 0.4-0.7Nm for reused ones
As far as I know, open diff was available on U.S. market, does someone have an US service manual to verify this data ?

You definitely want to get a factory service manual. I have the US manual and there isn't a side bearing preload old/new bearing listing*.... there IS a new/used pinion bearing preload......

1.0-1.6N-m for new bearing, .5 -.8N-m for used bearing


Side bearing pre-load is tighten and measuring backlash


I'm not sure where you can get a factory service manual for your European based model... but the US FSM is available here - http://www.faxonautoliterature.com/

OK thanks a lot, when it comes to upper limit I found a description of rally Gr.A car where I found:
"2 way LSD (shimmed to 80%)"

It does not change the fact that I'd to know how does look typical LSD options.
