driveline vibration TE71
Thanks Jondee,
That should give me some solid ground to work on. Instead of discussing it, it seems time to just get under the car. I have new motor- and trans mounts lying around, so I will mount them and check if it handles the issue. If not, I'll have to take out the driveshaft and have it balanced. If that doesn't fix it, I'll get back and see what a next step can be. It seems like a good thing to replace the carrier/hanging bearing anyway if I have the shaft out, since it's 30 years old. Would this one for instance fit? http://www.ebay.com/itm/DEA-TTPA-A6001-C...28&vxp=mtr |

Just swapped out the mounts today, haven't had time for a proper test drive.
Will report back tomorrow ---= lowest bhp title owner =--- |

An old trick to check for an out of balance prop (drive) shaft is to fit a 'Jubilee' style hose clip to the shaft and try it out in different positions around the shaft.

you might have a poorly balanced clutch. my 2nd AE86 had a vibration.... I checked all of what you did. I bought an OEM pressure plate and installed it, the vibration disappeared

I have one lying around here somewhere, its from an AE86 dont know if they are the same. If you swap and try and its better you know you are in the right direction Real men race downhill |

My 86 also vibrates at 115/130km/h...
Starts with a noise something like "ohm ohm ohm...", replaced all bearings.... Also notice that the car vibrates alot... Testing a new driveshaft to check if the noise and vibration go away... |

They are not. Everything is checked, double checked actually!
Getting a bit tired.... Could also be some bearing in the gearbox... |
