Bean Bandit Wrote:anyone any other last minute tips before I go to the garage? Play around with distributor... Let someone crank the car and while it's cranking you turn the distributor left and right.. try it couple of times and see what is happening. One 4AGE after small rebuild refused to fire up.. and everything seemed perfect. Playing with distributor solved things.. Good luck Toyota scrap yard car park = AE92GTi - AE82GT - KE30 - KP62 |

help, engine dies at startup - (56k Warning - SOLVED)
ok so I set the timing as good as I could with the pictures and it's starts up briefly ~3 sec and then suts... if I push the throttle it shuts too... - i checked the vac hoses and they are fine so...
timing okish timing belt ok sparks ok fuel ok in those 3 sec startups it reaches around 1000rpm a bit more with little throttle befor the engin dies... after 2 trys I need to wait for a while... guess it's flooded then... anyone, i'm still at the garage and would love to change to the corolla from the slow Kia Picanto I have AE86 ex-daily |

Man, check your grounds... (I had the similar problm), just do it...
If you took the head off you had to take off the ground wireing of the intake manifold. Check if that is back... The engine must have fuel, spark and air... And if you have those 3 and still doesn't wont to fire up, do UMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM, breath in, breath out, save your nerves, close up the garage, come back after a few days (if possible, not alone), and check everything in school order... Fingers crossed. I coudn't fire up my junk for 3 weeks, almost pushed it in the river... and we sat by the car, think about it and just ran it from top to bottom... Meshin helped with the wireing, we found the loose ground and WROM! Just go slow and save your nerves... PS (voodoo doesn't help... I tryed that too ) SNO-MO-BIRU project started- CHIRO |
