4age bogs. Would like some help!
I just rebuilt a stock 4AGE and it wants to bog just as I give it throttle?
It idles well and runs fine if I keep the rev's high (no bog at start). But when I start from idle it always hesitates then goes fine? Anybody have suggestions what might cause this or info on where to look first? I'd like to get some info on timing advance? Is there a good source available for tuning basics? |

Grab yourself the factory manual from the aeu86 main site, all basics and everything else are covered in it.
It's likely to be some electrical problem. It might be the AFM sensor that's died ore some air leak behind it. FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |

Total timing advance is handled by the ECU, but you do have to make
sure the base timing (10 deg BTDC) is set correctly. The procedure is set down in the FSM. If the hesitation is relatively minor, you could check the adjustment of the idle switch in the TPS. That switch is responsible for signaling the ECU to change from "idle" settings to "run" settings, and if not adjusted correctly, will interfere with the on throttle/off throttle transition. Again, the procedure is set down in the FSM. Cheers... jondee86 |
