my hachi don't want to start...

Hi all.

I have a big probleme with my 86.
It don't want to stard.
I have rebuild the engine.
with some trd pistons.
the engine whene i'll start it tung en run until 2000/2600 rpm

but it stop.

I have tested the ingintion. it's OK.
The distribution is OK too.
And the engine has the fuel.
I have put an AE92 fuel pump in.

I realy don't know why it don't start.

The engine as never start since i've got it.


So please if some one as a probleme like this or know how to resolve it. let me know

The doube relay that feeds the fuel pump is working?
Is the one that sits beside the glove box, black with the connector yellow.

Yes, sound like a problem with your fuel delivery.. the pump always gets 12v during starting, but after that, the circuit-opening relay needs to kick in to keep the fuel coming.

When the ignition is turned ON do you have 12 volts
present at the injectors ??

I have cheked that relay today.
It works properly.

the fuel pump works too.

I tested to run the pump directly from the batery.

The engine still makes the same.

Tomorow i'll test what the injectors get.

check mass cables. You have 3 of them. one is connected to the manifold runners, near to the injectors. 2nd is on the back of the left valve covers, and 3rd is below left engine mount.

check for fuel - from the fuel line after the filter. disconnect the fuel line from the rail, try to start the engine and look at the disconnected fuel line

check for spark - from spark plug cables. disconnect one of them, put some spare spark plug inside, touch it to ground and try to start the engine.
