nzae86's TRD ae86 N2 Race Car Project 2,
Never mind, I read the whole post. Being that those flares are for a 13 inch rim, how extensive would the modifications be to be able to fit a 15 inch wheel properly? Or would i just be able to find a set that has already been altered. But, my question still stands. Where will I be able to get the "modified TRD N2 body kit"?

Hi there, The moulds that I have are for the original shape , yes there is a company here in my city that makes a modified N2 kit for larger wheels along with alot of other ae86 parts. If you pm your email address I will send you their contact details, shipping from New Zealand maybe expensive but the current exchange rate will work in your favour . nzae86's TRD ae86 N2 Race Car Project 2,
Another update on a bit of work done , a window demister is essential in this country when racing in the rain so the standard heater box had everything inside it removed and modified the internal flow with light weight aluminum sheet, then attached a lightweight blower from a marine shop to push the air through it
The intake of the blower will take the air from the original place that the normal heater used. All this has ended up very light . I also started on the lay out for the wiring , as the Stack dash is a stand alone unit ,this simplified the dash wiring .The standard wiring loom was stripped apart to find anything useful.(front, dash, and rear loom) This is what I threw away And this is what I kept . I have gone for a local built engine management that has some great features but will only be using fuel and spark. My engine builder is very familiar with this EMS so the end result should work well. Now just to work out where everything goes And a very high power battery without a lot of weight Wiring can be a bit frustrating as a lot of planning is required to keep everything as simple as possible , with wires running the tidiest way possible Your addiction to motorsport can only be cured by poverty !! |

nzae86's TRD ae86 N2 Race Car Project 2,
Well progress has been rather slow as work has been full on , managed to drag out the rally car for a blast around the race track last weekend to see if I could remember how to drive .
I have finally had the dash made and fitted it up , cut out and fitted the stack dash in as well . I have also had a change of mind on the seat and have gone for a head restraint seat , I had to get this made as a special by the manufacturer here in NZ as the standard design would not fit ,It is not period looking like the Bride seat but my safety is more important ! And while I was at it I have changed the Takarta belts for a set of HANS compatible belts as well, note the rubber grip on the shoulder strap to help hold the HANS in place Also have done a bit of work on the fuel system as I had to change the main pump to a high pressure and add a return line as well to run the injection set up. A few more earls fittings ! Just waiting for the Bosch fuel pump bracket to arrive and also one to hold the filter in place as well . I have ordered a new set of 460cc Bosch injectors that should be here this week and then I can fit up the throttle bodies and fuel rail to finish the fuel lines , here is the air box that I am having a copy made in carbon fibre at the moment Also folded up a center console dash panel today from aluminum to use as a template for a carbon one to mount the 3 remote reservoirs to as well Your addiction to motorsport can only be cured by poverty !! |

Nice dash/seat/belts/airbox. Oh, and the stack. I really want one... haha
What are the dimensions on that airbox, if you don't mind? It would be nice to get the length, width at the back, front, height, and the diameter of the inlet. Thanks! Wow, I could have sworn I had an account here... I guess I'm the new guy |
