starting issue after rebuild
ok my dad just rebuilt my engine
engine has been fitted back into the car and all wired up, now we are having issues starting it, seems like we are back to where we started before we done the rebuild, not starting haha when cranking the car it initially turns over quickly, then there is a kind of pop and it doesnt turn over so quickly, sounds like it is coming from around the t-vis, and airfilter area its kind of hollow there is also a fuel leak from around the injectors but we know that is the seals new set is ordered, could this be causing the starting issues? my dad thinks the pop noise is a backfire  anyone got any ideas? oh and there is an earth lose from the gearboox to the chassis noticed it brfore i came in here, but dont think that would cause a staring issue would it? also this lead, does anyone know where it should go? damn car i just want it back DRIFTING is pushin a car against its intended design, then playing with the LAWS OF PHYSICS |

Blue plug goes to your TVIS under the manifold. Check you have the distributor correctly lined up.

Quote: there is an earth lose from the gearboox to the chassis noticed it brfore i came in here, but dont think that would cause a staring issue would it? Check the wiring diagram and see what is the purpose of that wiring point. The problem is only with the starter or with ignition/injection? Keeping the AE86 alive! |

also if your backfiring through the intake try setting your intake cam ahead 180 degrees so that those valves are shut during the ingition stroke.
