need help urgently!!!

i've taken off my axle on my car, coz i've bought another axle with lsd, i want to change to the newly bought lsd diff.

now that old shaft got 23 spline which is same as the new one, but the difference is that my on car shaft is thinner than the one qith the lsd, can i just put the lsd diff in with using my old shaft? coz the one come with lsd comes with drum brake, where my old one with disc brake but without lsd...


i hope i've made the question clear, as i'm working on my car now....

I think you have some early/late shaft problems (24 VS 25mm diameter?)
They are not interchangable though..

good question cannabolic, what car?? and where are the axles come from?

Well, it's like ZDoman said. Zenki/kouki and their differences.

But you say you got drum brakes. AE86 never came out with drum brakes.

It's maybe a supra/celica-supra axle. Am not sure though.

One this is fo sho, if it's with drum brakes it's not AE86. Maybe it's some kind of strange diff/shaft combo I've never heard of.

You got any pics of the whole thingy??
Check if it's been modified. Spring nest/shock support/4-link re-welded

you could swap the diff and the axles over ??

AE86 might not come with drum brake, but AE85 does, not so sure of what car the axle is from, but it look definitely an ae86/ke70/te71/te71/ae70.....it's the same setup as AE

As far as i know, it could be swap only if the diameter of the wheel shaft is the same, n same number of spline of course.

As far as i know, it could be swap only if the diameter of the wheel shaft is the same, n same number of spline of course.

I think is like jondee86. large bearings are the same in zenki/kouki even though the diameter is different. And the diff of course needs to be swaped.

But like i said, the whole casing is not from an AE86. Maybe the shafts.

The AE85 axle is different: its diff is 6.38 inch instead of the 6.7 inch. But I already said that in the other topic...
It could be a Carina axle: the A4 and A6 Carina with live axle has exactly the same axle as the AE86 with drumbrakes. I know of a Romanian hachi which has the Carina axle swap due to shortage of parts.
