Hi
I was given the following : A blue top twincam 16v head with T-VIS intake<big> with injectors + loom .i was also given the distrubutor ... still waiting twincam Computer box from a friend planing on getting a second car now the Question is i have a 4AF<corrolla> i did some asking around and read and i am told that the block is the same that the head will fit with out any problems... but my concern is the pistons is it the same or does that need to be replaced or what more needs to be replaced like i say this will be a project thing as i am planning on buying another car |

I doubt the 4afe block is the same as the 4age engine.. it is very similar though, and the 4age head might fit..
If I'm not mistaken the crank has a bolt less for the flywheel, and the pistons should be different too. BTW, I removed your other (double) posts, no need for those on this relatively small forum  FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |

Won't it basically be the same as with the 7-afe or am I mistaken here. Maybe someone who has put together a 7-age knows a bit more about whether it'll fit and what needs to be adapted...
And isn't it better to spent a bit more money and actually get a 7-afe to do a 7-age conversion, because it doens't seem very...usefull to use a 4-afe block with a 4-age head. At least with the 7-afe you get more torque. But then again, if you have to make do with what you have that's not an option I guess... E30 - Daily Driver AE86 - Moneypit |

You can use either 4AC or 4AF block. You will need 4AGE crank, rods, pistons, head (at least). You can use AC-AF crank and rods at your own risk.

Yes. In fact 4AC and early (AFAIK bluetops from AE86) 4AGE blocks have the same PN#.
