weird problem...

I have a weird problem with my hachi. Every time i drive it , a smoke film appears in the 3rd door glass surface mainly, and after a while this "film" appears in all glass surfaces of my car.
It is really annoying...
I dont have an idea where it comes from ( it looks like oil when light hits it )
Any ideas?? What can i do to stop it??

That has to be the weirdest problem I have ever heard if it's really like oil...then again you are greek...ever heard of condensation (just kidding offcourse :wink: ). Does it go away when you switch on the window heating? Have you tried cleaning the windows already?

Ofcourse i have cleaned the windows!!
And the film appears all the time even with the windows open.It is not like in winter, when windows dazzle with breath.
I havent seen any other hachi doing that, only mine

To reduce such effects clean the windows inside with ethyl alcohol.

Could also be that your heater matrix is leaking coolant and releasing glycol fume to the inside of the car through the vents. Gycol tends to create an oily film on the inside of the windows and trying to wipe if off just smudges it around somewhat. Even a very small leak not easily visible when checking the coolant level on the radiator may cause this.

One way to diagnose this would be to override the heater matrix as whole, rerouting the coolant directly from one hose to another in the engine bay but those hoses are in a rather awkward place on the firewall behind the intake manifold.

For you it would, knowing you're a petrolhead.

Some people clean their windows with pure dishsoap to prevent condensation which also leaves a thin film when condensating, but then again you cleaned them and it came back.
