wider rear axle,track width,suspension questions

so im thinking of installing a wider axle and im looking on information what will happen with handling.
wheels are 13x6 et 21.(ae86 original 13x5 et 1
i have to use those wheels since im making replica rallycar

front has 25mm spacer for brakes
rear would be +40mm wider on each side.

effect would be twitchy in corners
braking
steering efford
bearings
..?

how bad would it be,handling is now good dont want to lose it.
Is it big impact,only something for expert,...

I imagine it could only be a good thing given the N1 cars have much wider track due the TRD Pack arches, Wide and low/-ve offset wheels and much wider tyres.

Chances are, when it's on grip, it'll feel like a roller skate, with stability but it might be inclined, on the limit, to be a bit more snappy.

Hi, have Previa's rear axle fitted that is 5.5cm wider each side, wheels 15x8 et0 and can say only one thing, it handles better and has less roll. Worked fine in my case

so rear is much wider than front and it handled better?
I do remember Francois duval his ae86 had the wheel flush with the chassis.

Sorry should have posted this in my first post to give a full picture, the front suspension is a mix of ae86 and s13, with s13 lower arms and hubs, so it is considerably wider than standard too, making rear and front more or less same width.

Never widened an AE86, so I have no practical experience. But for circuit work almost all fast AE86s go towards a wider square setup (wheel base = wheel length). Rally setup is different I think, you could take a long hard look at all the ridiculously fast AE86s in Scandinavia.

Just remember that a much wider track will require upgrades in spring rate and shock valving to end up at the same wheelrate as the original setup.

Generally speaking a wider track at the rear than the front will induce understear and a smaller track at the rear will induce overstear.
