improvedae86 Wrote:I was just sent this link and after reading it wondered if fia track/rally/hill sprints etc s series rear end AE86'S need to have roll centers way out from the body center of gravity ? Isn't the main design point of multi link to isolate the matching point regardless of body angle/roll angle? I am a bit unsure if at 3'c per 1'' if those cv boots are going to allow that angle to be run without bursting due to pressure/heat or locking also. S13 s series cv's dont have alot of flexability movement in rear width change/angle. Since I am in process of doing similar thing on the rear end of my ae86 I was analyzing lot's of RoCo's pictures on the internet forums. I have already pointed out the problem of roll center he will have on the driftworks forum, so it's up to him what to doo. http://www.driftworks.com/forum/drift-ca...post938005 I have learned my lesson here so I did it, I think better, but let's leave it to my topic, as I already jumped in here once. Drifting - best fun you can have in your car with your pants on! |

since starting this project I have completely changed the car several times.
Was going to just run the v8. then I decided on a English s13 axle with welder, then I decide, on s13 front end, and s13 brakes, then I decided on s13 coilovers and turreted the rear end, then I decided to scrap the safety devices cage and do it properly, …. And even now im still chaging my mind. its taking ages, but a wise man ones said theres no short cuts in doing something right. im not going to spare any expense on this as its at such a stage it would ruin the rest of the car.im even going as far as replacing and painting each nut and bolt. I would still do somethings diffrent like axle placement, but I wana see how this set up works first. I can rectify things as I go as im unsure of what its going to be like as this setup hasn’t been done before all in one car. Hopefull it will turn out like the picture in my head, lol |

started to mount the steering rack and pedal box
off the dash bar, I decided to put the box over the rack, and not on the floor. Less room but will look a lot tidier. |
