Some news!!

Last saturday did a couple hundred miles with the 86 to do some data logging and get some results. I rarely drive the car on highways so I got some surprises.



5th gear went straight up to the rev limiter at 8900rpm which is 234.77 km/h regarding 4.778 R&P and 195/50R15 tires. GPS gave a reading of 240km/h (150mph).

It is neither the purpous of my car nor the most fun I get from it, but I can't disregard the fact that it is a pretty decent speed there. Never seen videos of AE86 @ Top speed.

The noise from the new exhaust is almost bareable but it is no car for highway driving.

BTW over 100 hp/l is not easy! It will require quite a bit of money and know how.

Well... the money has already been spent. Results are satisfatory.

I may raise the bar to 180hp at the flywheel with some fine tuning soon. The new exhaust gave it some power.

More upgrades.

A friend of mine (gon) is helping me to do somethings left behind in my car.

Tried to assemble the brembo brake kit that seb sold me but there were some issues. I have to use 7mm wheel spacers and the adapters he made weren't very accurate.

Bought some heatwrap to lower the temperature in the engine bay.

Fuel pressure was raised and changed the injection to sequencial. More mapping to do.

I also found a throttle linkage from a silvertop that didn't came with my itb's.





Finally, gon setup the megasquirt to use the ECON/PWR lighs as a shiftlight.

cool man. how much costs the ITB's? and for what is this gauge on last pic??

ITB's only were around $200.

The gauge was to measure fuel pressure.

Yesterday I got the Brembo kit installed.

First impression is satisfying. Good brake feeling and power.

Against: Not plug and play and it turns out expensive. You'll need to use wheel spacers and work the calipers to fit the smaller rotors.
