where to buy a new engine?
Hello,
i got some very sad news:
my engine is dying!
some internal hart problems. Costs seem way too high to fix it.
however, it's not dead yet, engine will probably last a few more monts

Having said that, the good news is that it gives me the perfect excuse to put something faster/better in. Since i realy like the 4age engine, i probably want one of those.

now i got 2 major questions:
1. what engine do i want? (4agze, silvertop or blacktop)
2. where can i get a good one for the least amount of money

for now i'm thinking more about a black or silvertop, since i enjoy high rpm power a lot. Anyone that can help me with this decision?

@robokill, interrested in a 4age with oil eating problems?

Maybe you must rebuild engine with GZE internals and build a 4AGTE ?
You will accomplish both goals + fresh engine.

i am willing to spend as much as needed. But buying an engine for less then 1800 euro's should be possible right? about the 4agte, how rev-happy would that engine be?

i think swapping anything but a 4A-GE is hard to do.

But with an 4A-GZE the enginemounts are right, and thus the engine fits in directly.

But indeed, there are some problems:
- harness (for sure Big Grin)
- intercooler (a normal GZE as it on top of the engine, that won't fit in a hachi).

A big pro is that you can use the std. exhaust, it bolts on directly.

A 20V costs about 1800€ and is not an easy swap!

You might want to go with a 140 hp 16V and bolt a turbo to it. A complete setup will be about 1800€ and 200+ hp is no problem Smile The gearbox and rear end might be though...
