Purchase camshafts(256 type only), purchase adjustable timing pulleys, purchase .8mm TRD gasket, machine head surface .020"(.5mm) This combination should not only look good on a dyno, but should feel good on the street.

My preferred "256" type camshaft is Web Camshaft's Grind 294, Or Kamikaze's Grind 294

With this "prescription" and WebCam 294...how many hp will gain +-?...is to make an idea

Above engine 112 to 115 @ the wheels

Stock 4AGE hp measured @ the wheels... 100hp (+ or - 3hp)

Crank horsepower numbers are stock 115, "prescription" engine above 130

Oh... to "save" horsepower... remove the engine powered fan, and fit an electric fan to the radiator... mechanical fan can steal 3-5hp

You can |Sad .... OR you can ask for help!!!

My other rebuilt engine I had with 81.5 pistons had 107 at the wheels...no camshafts just bigger pistons.

So I gained hp with bigger pistons...

Be carefull comparing wheelhp outputs, there are so many variables between dyno's that the numbers can be off by as much as 10%, some are worse then that (e.g. when calling hub numbers hp@the wheels).

You would expect hp to scale at most with the increase in displacement. Going from 81 to 81.5 should yield about 1whp at most due to displacement. If its more then something else changed too.

A wheel to steer the front of the car
A pedal to steer the rear

this has been posted here back in April 2009
robokill Wrote:Thumbs up! Sticky this one lets make a large thread out of it. One point post if its WHP or HP ?

My engine:

7 ribbed 40mm crank
81.5 mm toyota pistons
Ported bigport head
182CC injectors
260 in 9mm lift (Catcams: 7105137)
252 out 8.5mm lift (Catcams: 7105137)
Standard intake with open air filter
Standard ECU
Super 98 unleaded fuel

Stadnard header but cut at the 2-1 juntion to fit a 55mm diameter exhaust under axle.

This results into:

134.8 Rwhp and 150.4 NM on the wheels Smile

On ideal situation I would be running 210CC injectors (which I have laying around) Engine is running a bit lean and I have a power distortion at 7400 rpm

most of the other things have been said already.

Thaks!!! Respect!

On the other hand, i was looking my removed engines, and i have a 3 rib (original of my zenki) and a 7 rib, i was reading a lot of info about their differences, but... Banging head

I think you'll recomend to rebuild the 7rib, but what are the "feeling difference"? is faster, stronger, ...?

Can i install a complete head from my zenki (3rib block) in a 7rib block?? (in toyodiy appears the same block in my two cars, and weren't the same)

you won't feel any difference between 3rib and 7rib you wont even be able to measure any difference. The only thing is that the 7rib will eventually last longer if put under stress... for most the 3rib will do just as well.
I personally went for the 7rib but not because of the ribs but due to the oilsquirters which in my application come in handy.

Got to ask, are there any diffrence on a Head from a 3 Rip and a 7 Rip, besides one is Bigported and the other is smallported?

My plan was to use a Bigported Head from a 3 Rip Block, and a 7 Rip Block with oilsquirters.

sheesh nobody reads anymore... as Uzelac said any 4a/7a head will fit any 4a/7a block ... so no there are no differences fitting wise...
