20v oil pump

Hi All,

I'm in need of an oil pump for my 4AGE engine and was wondering if a 20v would work with a 16v 4AGE engine without modifications?

Pretty sure it wont since the tensioner is different, and the 16V bottom cambelt cover wont fit and I think the 16V alternator bracket does not clear the 20V oilpump. Last to problems can be solved with a grinder.

For the tensioner you migh be able to thake tha 20V auto tensioner off, and fit a manual 16V pulley?

silvertop oil pump is the same as the smallport, and they work fine for any 16V engines! also it pushes a little more oil than the stock bigport pump.

avoid the pumps being sold from taiwan, I've just bought one and the gears are crap inside! they have more clearance in new then a used stock one..

ok cool i'll keep an eye out for a silver top one i'll ask my local Toyota dealer . when it comes to parts that are vital i usually try to go with genuine or proven performance parts.

Well, looks like I was talking about the blacktop oilpump. And yes always buy genuine. I´ll normally take genuine pumps apart, check all the clearances and put back together and use them again, if someone is on a budget, rather then buying shit chinese ones...
