Front big brake kit
I'm thinking of ordering a big brake kit. The original plan was to build a street car that could do some trackdays.. But it is turning into a track car that is kinda streetish..
So original plan was this: http://mcnsport.com/products/ae86-wilwoo...nch-wheels Decent kit for a good price! But then I found this kit: https://technotoytuning.com/toyota/ae86/...86-corolla Is the T3 kit worth the extra 400 euro? I'm not planning on using a pedal box and the stock brake booster is kept. I used a set of AP Racing big brakes on my AE82 and they were awesome. Could just fit a 15 inch wheel, and stopped like hell! |

Ap racing brakes are probably the best you can get.
If you can afford it i would buy them for the ae86 as well. |

300mm brakes squeezed under an AE86?? After what power figures are you after to need such huge brakes on a >1000kg car?
The 275mm mcnsport wilwood kit is all you need for a streetable track hachi and has been proven to work great. Daily Beater: Civic EG5 Work in progress Car: AE86 |

I would like something to match the power of the Ap's..
I bought a complete AE82 without engine for 400 euros. When I got home and took the wheels of, my jaw literately dropped when I saw the AP's on it I would like them back but they are to expensive to buy new.. |

You also can choose the rx7 caliper with mini disc brake option.
Or i have brackets that allow you to use the 2 pot front calipers of a mr2 sw20 with its 280mm rear disc's (have to be redrilled). My setup uses readily available toyota parts. Only thing is i have to get new brackets made as i don't have any in stock. AE86 Levin |

Willwoods are VERY capable indeed. Used in plenty of high echelons of motorsport and (oddly) don't have the price tag of AP.
Pads CAN be more expensive here in Europe as an American manufacturer but their calipers are very good. Modception do a cylinder upgrade too - http://www.modception.com/products/ae86/...r-cylinder |

In GPR4 you can buy a Wilwood kit (Wilwood forged Dynalite 4 pistons calipers + 280mm slotted and drilled discs) at good price
If it can helps you: I use the "old" T3 Wilwood kit (basically the same of GPR4), i had a problem because my brake booster - BMC was zenki...a bit small than kouki, the pedal was too soft. I replace the BMC for a 1" Hiace's one (with starlet EP71 deposit because hiace's one touched the booster) and now is a bit hard...and works perfect!! The wilwood BP10 pads had the "cold problem" and replaced it by EBC Yellowstuff...the car brakes a lot, no blocking easily, no weary... |
