S2000 Cluster in 86 Corolla ?? pro's plz
Ok it took 6 years to confirm it works (sorry, i've been bit busy). I've road tested now and it works great <100km/hr its within +/- 1km compared to GPS. At 100km its 5km over - think this has to do with safety margin Honda built-in.
I can make more for s2000 cluster lovers, bare in mind, it take bit longer to make as I need to gather parts together and make them in batches. Leave you interest here. Product details: * RPM works with 4age 20v running COPS/stock ignitor-coil (unsure if it can handle 16v should work using IGT signal - definitely runs off IGF) * Speedo calibrated work 4.3 diff ratio on 185/60r14 & 4ac T50 gearbox * Correction Factor lets you adjust on fly different gearbox/diff/tyre combos * Large Speedo correction factor of +/- 5km/hr (up to 30 total) * Small Speedo correction factor of +/- 1km/hr (up to 7) * Tested in km/hr (may need a guinea pig for mph) * Temp control programmed; * 3-4 bars during normal driving (85-95degC) * 5-6 bars during stuck traffic (90degC thermo switched thermofan will bring temp down to 4 bars once it kicks in) What you need to make this work * Ap1 S2000 cluster + pigtails (immobilizer unlocked version, e.g. JDM) * Ap1 S2000 fuel sender or you can fiddle around with AE86 + some resisters to get fuel guage working (I use S2000 mechanically adaptered and works GREAT! with Honda quicks :3 ) * M22 Toyota/OEM speed sensor (4-pulse) - Can be found new on ebay cheaply * 83181-20040 8318120040 949973-0021 5S4893 723880 SN7113 * Extra wiring * Spare toyota water sensor (2 wire) * Car not limited to AE86 Attached picture of my $8 bezel with light accessories on - $5 plastic tub - $2 steel brackets - $1 labor of love |

Yep, on to my second life (shell).
I still have the engine but never got a chance to installing it. Engine conversion checks have gotten a whole lot stricter since and it has turned me off May end up selling it as I am enjoying the 20v It feels about right for me. |

Thanhngo this stuff is wildly over my head.
But what a the difficulties one could expect to encounter if I wanted to marry something like this s2k cluster with a beams running adaptronic ecu ? I'm assuming the speed signal could be modified somehow from the stock electronic setup in the j160 and the fuel sender I can modify with a similar pickup... Don't know about water and oil temp /pressures... And stuff... Sent from my HTC_0P6B using Tapatalk clutch kick, switch, tree .... oowwww |

Yeah it took me awhile to but its mostly just signal conditioning, like translating toyota language to honda language
rpm can be driven directly from adaptronic. Speed - you need a speedo corrector/multiple that will multiple J160 signal enough to match. I assume its a typical toyota 4-pulse sensor (which is what I use), signal needs to be multiplied at least 10-20x to get the correct speed and then you need finer adjustments to match you drive train/gear. Speedo is within 1km/hr of my GPS signal Water temp - extra 2 wire toyota temp sensor is needed but this requires a special |

Perhaps for signal conversion a Dakota digital SGI-5 might be useful?
