Weak Grounding problem with Temperature sensor
Hi Guys,
Was finally told the reason to the problem with my temp sensor not working. The sensor does not have a good ground!! If I touch a wire on the sender, and connect it with the negative terminal of the battery, the gauge will work. Can anyone tell me why my ground is bad? What should I look for to fix this without soldering a wire to the sensor and running it to the battery? Thanks for your help Trueno for sale! |

Weak Grounding problem with Temperature sensor
You could try finding the ground wire that is originally connected to it and check where that goes. It's probably a loose contact somewhere. But the easiest thing to do would be to solder a wire with one of those crimp contacts that you can mount under a screw, and then attach that to a screw behind the dash going straight into a solid piece of chassis. (around the fuseboxes for example, or just use one of the grounds there.)
