I would recommend non-dusty pads if you like to keep your car/rims clean. If I washed my front rims they would immediatly become dirty again. Just a 5min drive does it.

I ain't a clean freak, but if you are do not get dusty pads.

If you got money to burn go for the Project Mu D1 spec pads, I have them on my Trueno and I am really impressed.

Looking at the specs the operating range is from 200 - 800 degrees C, but they work perfectly well from cold.


I was charged 24750 yen for the pads front and rear which is about £125 sterling so they deffo arent the cheapest

How do they wear? Some pads wear fast and others seem to last ages. If the wear is good then you can win back the higher price of the pads.

Well yet to tell as the pads are brand new............only done about 500 miles on em.

as I rack up the miles I'll give you guys a report........but so far I am very happy with them, and i've tried lots of different brake pads on lots of different cars.

The AE86 runs same brake pads as the mitshubischi and another one i still have the boxes somewhere if we can find a supllier for that we are in :-)

Report on the Mintex pads, though they are under the volvo and not the AE86..

Great dual use pad. Bites agressively when cold, better then DS2500 that have to heat up a bit before truly performing.
Braking performance when hot is slightly less then the DS2500s, still more then adequate in most situations (aka heavy car on semi's = ok).
Resistance to fading seems better then that of the DS2500s..wil report back after a ringvisit somewhere next week.

I can get Mintex here so i maybe try them. I was thinking of trying Ferodo DS2500 but i didnt find this type on rear on ae86 only on front. Has anyone catalog number for rear so i can check that in our shops ?
On rear i can get only DSP pads.
